Certificate in Highland Piping. Awarded with the concurrent conferral of a BA with a major in music with highland bagpipes as the major instrument.


Institution Notes:

The College, established in 1989, aims to promote and preserve Celtic culture and heritage. It offers instruction in highland bagpiping, fiddle, Scottish style snare drumming, highland dancing and step dancing. The College of Piping's pipe band performs at a variety of festival and events. A Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board (incorporating the Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming, the College of Piping, the National Piping Centre, the Piobaireachd Society and the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association) has issued a piping and pipe band drumming examination syllabus. A regular summer school in Celtic performing arts is held. The College is affiliated with The College of Piping in Glasgow.
