Details:
Bachelor of Arts in Human Ecology. Four years. A flexible program with an interdisciplinary emphasis. The Arts and Design resource area covers the disciplines of music, painting, drawing, photography, video and film, graphic arts, landscape architecture and design, sculpture, museum studies and ceramics. Students may select and mix creative projects of their own choosing. Current courses in music include music history, improvisation, guitar and keyboard performance, percussion techniques, jazz, rock and blues, music fundamentals, soundscape.
Institution Notes:
The College of the Atlantic was founded in 1969 as a private alternative liberal arts college. There are no separate departments and all students major in human ecology and design their own majors from three main resource areas: Arts and Design, Environmental Sciences, and Human Studies.
