Details:
Licence Musicologie or Musique (= Bachelor of Arts). Three years. Studies include performance (classical, jazz), musicology, ethnomusicology, aesthetics. Diplôme national supérieur professionnel de musicien (DNSPM) (= Bachelor of Music). Studies include performance (classical, jazz, early music), choral conducting, composition, electro-acoustic composition. Diplôme d’État de professeur de musique (DE). Gives the qualification to teach music in schools. May be taken concurrently with years 2 and 3 of the Bachelor.

The Centre d'Études Supérieures de Musique et de Danse (CESMD) is organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. In addition to the teacher training program it is a research and documentation centre for musicians and dancers, and offers a continuing education program for teachers of dance and music. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
