The Institute was founded in 1967 as a non-profit-making organisation and is accredited by the Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education. There are programs in graphic design, fine art, music, illustration, interior design, industrial design, fashion and textile. Facilities include a state-of-the-art computer laboratory.
