Bachelor of Music (Honours). Three years. Studies include performance (classical, jazz/popular, traditional instruments), composition, theory, aural skills, instrumental conducting, music education (for teaching in schools), music industry, music technology.

Master of Music. In performance, composition, musicology, ethnomusicology, music of Malaysia. Master of Music Education. Studies in history, psychology and philosophy of music education, pedagogy. Doctor of Philosophy.

Institution Notes:

The university gained its current name and status in 1999. There are several campuses throughout the country. The Faculty of Music was established in 2006 as a result of the merger of the Department of Music Education and the Department of Music. It houses a Center for Music Advocacy. Facilities include computer labs, recording studios and a gamelan room.
