Institution Notes:
The University was established in 1997, though the institution can trace its history back to 1922 when it was known as Sultan Idris Training College. It operates on two campuses. The Faculty of Music and Performing Arts was launched in 2002 offering programs in music theatre and dance. There are well-equipped facilities for teaching music. The Faculty organises a number of ensembles, including several concentrating on traditional Malaysian music.
