There are two research centres - the Centre of Music Education Research and the Arts and Culture Research Centre. In 2013, with assistance from the Government of Switzerland, there was a refurbishment of the room holding the Institute's instrument collection. The maximum age for entry is 24 years. The Institute offers programs of further education for interested members of the local community. Language of instruction is French.
