Institution Notes:

A private university for women based on Christian principles, founded in 1876. It was chartered as a university in 1949. The College has a traditional Japanese music club. The library holds a collection of some 9,300 mandolin scores, 9,400 guitar scores including some by Fernando Sor, and a first edition of a score by Mauro Giuliani. Facilities include some fine performing spaces and a pipe organ. There are attached elementary, junior and senior high schools as well as a kindergarten.
