Diploma program

Diploma. In performance (classical, jazz/pop), band and choral conducting, theory, pedagogy. Tuition on traditional instruments is offered but no diploma or certificate is awarded.

This not-for-profit independent conservatoire was founded in 1944. Lessons are given at the conservatoire building as well as at various schools that the conservatoire teachers visit weekly. Students are encouraged to sit for the examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in UK. There is a small orchestra, but numbers are restricted owing to the lack of instruments. The Conservatoire offers workshops on topics of general musical interest to teachers and interested members of the local community. A second campus is in South Nairobi.
