Details:
Bachelor of Science in Primary Education. Four years. Studies include African traditional music and Western music, choir conducting, music education for teaching in primary schools.
Institution Notes:
The College was founded by the Episcopal Church USA in 1889 and as such is the oldest private, co-educational, four-year degree-granting institution in sub-Saharan Africa. It was closed in 1990 due to the civil war, and continued on in the USA as ‘Cuttington-in-Exile’. It has since re-opened for students though many student records were destroyed during the civil war. The current name is Cuttington University. It is maintained by international donors and receives some government assistance. Language of instruction is English. Member of the Association of African Universities.
