Institution Notes:
The University was founded in 1957 and the Faculty of Arts and Media was formally established in 1987. Until 2012 the name of the institution was Al-Fateh University, and following the political upheaval in Libya the university has reverted to its earlier name of University of Tripoli. There are departments of fine and applied arts, performing arts, theatre, audio-visual, media and music education, each offering both undergraduate and graduate studies. Languages of instruction are Arabic and English.
