Premier prix (=Bachelor). Normally a minimum of two years. Studies include performance (classical, jazz, early music, opera), theory, composition, orchestration, choral and orchestral conducting, music history, music education.

Institution Notes:
The Conservatoire can trace its history back to 1906. There are schools of dance, drama and music. The School offers courses in all aspects of music. It specialises in opera and lied, percussion and jazz. Facilities include a fine concert hall. There is a collection of early instruments. In addition to the professional program a junior division offers music training to young children. Alexander Technique is offered. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen. The Military Music Headquarters of the army of Luxembourg is housed in the Conservatoire, but is an entirely separate entity. It is not a teaching department and accepts only graduates into its performing groups.
