Institution Notes:
The Selangor Institute of Music is a private music school founded in 1930. The main campus is in Petaling Jaya, with two Kuala Lumpur branches following a similar program. In addition to its diploma programs the Institute offers tuition to children and interested adults. A Kindermusik program caters for infants and children up to age 7. The institute organises public concerts, seminars and workshops. It has set up the Akademi Muzik (SIM) which has established a relationship with the music department at the University of Western Australia. It also prepares students for the examinations and diplomas of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and Trinity College, London.
