Institution Notes:
The University can trace its history back to 1591. The Mediterranean Institute organises the music program within the Faculty of Arts. Its Music Studies division holds an archive of folk and traditional music of the region and offers courses in ethnomusicology of the region. There is some collaboration in this area with the Università degli Studi de Bologna. Languages of instruction are Maltese and English. The University has other campuses in Gozo, Valletta and Marsaxlokk.
