Institution Notes:
The Academy was founded in 1940 and gained its current name and status in 2002. There are programs in music, theatre, choreography, multimedia, fine and applied arts, design and culturology as well as arts and music education. The music faculty continues the traditions of the Russian schools of music and consists of two departments : • instrumental performance, composition and musicology, and • vocal art, conducting, music pedagogy. Facilities include an electronic music studio and a folklore studio. Pre-university courses are held. Language of instruction is Romanian.
