Details:
Bachelor of Arts (Hons)(Music). Four years. Studies in performance (singing, Burmese harp, xylophone (patala), piano, violin, Burmese drum circle (saing), brass, Burmese oboe (hne’), gong), basic composition, history and structure of the music of Myanmar, theory, world music. Completion of a fifth year gives the degree with honours.

Diploma in Music. One year. An undergraduate qualification. Post Graduate Diploma in Musicology (P.G.D.M). Certificate in Video/Audio Production. 3 months.
Institution Notes:
The university was established in 1993 and operates under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, gaining its current name and status in 2007. There are departments of music, cinematography and drama, dramatic arts, painting and sculpture. Students must have completed basic general education prior to entry and be aged not more than 20 years. Fifty music students are accepted each academic year. Required subjects for all students are Myanmar language, English, mathematics, history, geography and integrated science. English is the normal language of instruction.
