There are also courses in choral, band and orchestral conducting, sound engineering. Bachelor of Music Education. Four years. Double Degree program. Five years. Two Bachelor's degrees may be obtained, one from Codarts, the other from Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

The University for the Arts was formed from the amalgamation of Rotterdam Conservatoire, Rotterdam Dance Academy and Rotterdam Circus Arts. It goes by the shortened name of ‘Codarts’ and consists of five academies - Rotterdam Classical Music Academy, Rotterdam Jazz Academy, Rotterdam Pop Academy, Rotterdam World Music Academy and Muziektheateracademie. There is also a program in music education. A double degree program is available from collaboration between Codarts and Erasmus University in Rotterdam. The University incorporates a program of wellness and injury prevention for music students. Facilities include a large auditorium, a theatre room, dance studios, recording studios. Codarts also runs preparatory courses for those wishing to prepare for the entry to the professional program. One such preparatory program, the Havo voor Muziek en Dans is located in the same building and offers a normal higher secondary general education as well as specialised music training with teachers at the Rotterdam Conservatoire. The World Music and Dance Centre runs elective programs in ethnomusicology and organises children's concerts, music and dance courses for amateurs, youth programs, workshops and master classes. In 1991 the Rotterdam Conservatoire organised a joint program with the the Rotterdams Hellendaal Violinstituut (a specialist school for string players between the ages of three and sixteen). This is a Saturday program aiming to promote string playing and to prepare students for possible entry to professional programs. There are co-operative agreements with the University of New Orleans (USA) and the conservatoire in Graz (Austria). An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
