Institution Notes:

The University was founded in 1986. The Prince Claus Conservatoire cooperates with the Noord Nederlands Orkest and the Johan Willem Frisokapel, and students may undergo traineeships in these orchestras. The Joint Music Master for New Audiences and Innovative Practice is a program developed at Prince Claus Conservatoire with the collaboration of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (London), Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Reykjavik Academy of the Arts (Iceland), Eastman School of Music (Rochester, USA) and Georgia State University (Atlanta, Georgia USA). Facilities include a large multifunctional concert hall and a number of well-equipped practice rooms as well as state-of-the-art studios for recording and editing. Some programs are offered in English and some in Dutch or German. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
