Institution Notes:
The Conservatory was founded in 1939. There are departments of Chinese and Western vocal music, Chinese instruments, Western orchestral instruments, piano/accordion, composition/conducting, music education, as well as programs in film and television, visual art, broadcasting, piano tuning, violin manufacture. An affiliated secondary school gives music training to talented students. There are plans to develop the institution into the Sichuan Art University. An affiliated secondary school gives music tuition and general school subjects to gifted students.
