Institution Notes:

Massey University’s College of Creative Arts was established in 1999. The School of Music was originally formed from the combination of the Victoria University’s Conservatorium of Music and the Wellington’s Massey University’s School of Music and is currently based at the Wellington campus, but there are also programs available at the University’s Albany campus in Auckland and in Palmerston North. Facilities include a number of fine performance spaces and a growing collection of early instruments as well as a Javanese and a Balinese gamelan. The NZSM Young Musicians Saturday afternoon programme was established to offer gifted young musicians training to prepare for future tertiary study in music.
