Details:

A program of training in piano and Western orchestral instruments for young people. Ten-year programs in piano, violin, viola, cello, trumpet, trombone, tuba, french horn, flute, clarinet. Seven-year programs in guitar, percussion. Four year program in music education. Some emphasis on popular music.


Institution Notes:

This institution, also known by its Spanish name ‘Centro Nicaragüense de Enseñanza Artistica “Pablo Antonio Cuadra”’, was established in 1997 and co-ordinates the curricula of the existing national schools of fine arts - music, visual arts, dance, theatre and circus arts. The Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes offers a pre-tertiary program in music. Several ensemble groups have been formed which include graduates from the school - the National Youth Orchestra of Nicaragua, a Brass Ensemble, a Strings Group and the Children and Youth Choir of Nicaragua.
