This institution was formed in 2016 from the merger of the former Buskerud and Vestfold University Colleges with Telemark University College and gained its current name and status in 2018. It operates on a number of campuses around Norway. The University is the home of performance on the hardanger fiddle as well as on other traditional instruments.
