Details:
Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Musicology. Studies in performance (Western and Arabic instruments), Western and Arabic music history and theory, analysis, basic composition, organology, music teaching methods for elementary and secondary schools (including some attention to the methods of Orff and Kodály). Electives include Palestinian music folklore, acoustics., introduction to music therapy.
Institution Notes:
This Palestinian university began in 1918 as a school, and was granted university status in 1977. The Faculty of Fine Arts was established in 1981. Language of instruction is Arabic. There are currently problems with the continuity of the program due to the disturbed political situation on the West Bank.
