Institution Notes:
Founded as a conservatorium in 1836, it was renamed in 1960 and gained its current name and status in 1997. There are departments of music, theatre, visual arts, media arts, fashion, design, photography, animation and conservation and restoration. The music department consists of faculties of performance, composition and musicology, choral conducting, religious music and music education. The library contains over 135,000 volumes. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
