Institution Notes:
The Transylvania University of Braşov can trace its history back to 1948 and gained its current name and status in 1991. The Department of Music was added in 1969 and became the Faculty of Music in 1971. It organises the annual Braşov Transilvania Music Summer Academy. Language of instruction is Romanian, though other languages may be used at times. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
