Institution Notes:
The Conservatory was founded in 1956. There is a collection of instruments from south-east Asia and Siberia and a sound archive ot Siberian folk music. Special institutes concentrate on ancient Russian music and the history of music and traditional cultures in Siberia. Facilities include two concert halls. An attached music school offers music training to talented children from age six to age twelve. Performance tuition is also available to interested adults.
