The National School of the Arts 'Douta Seck' was established in 1995 following the amalgamation of the former Teachers’ College of the Arts, the National School of Fine Arts, the National Conservatory of Music, Dance and Dramatic Art and the Institute of Design. It operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture. There are programs in music, visual arts, theatre and dance, with three levels of instruction - lower and upper schools and the professional level (supérieur).
