Institution Notes:
The University was founded in 1955 though the National Institute of Education had commenced in 1950 as the Teachers’ Training College. It became the National Institute of Education in 1991, at the same time merging into the Nanyang Technological University. This is the sole teacher education institution in Singapore, conducting both pre-service and in-service courses.
