Institution Notes:
Chonnam National University was established in 1951, though it can trace its history back to 1909. The College of Arts, housing the Department of Music and the Department of Korean Traditional Music, was founded in 1981. Facilities include 50 sound-proof practice room and a well-equipped library. There is a second campus in Yeosu.
