Institution Notes:
The Music Studies Centre of Galicia ('Escola de Altos Estudos Musicais' - EAEM) was established in 1997. It aims to enhance the training opportunities for future music professionals and to organise outreach programs for the wider community. Courses are provided for both amateur and professional orchestral musicians and are organised into the Permanent Training Section for all who wish to advance their orchestral skills and the Instrumental Specialisation Course for young non-graduate students pursuing higher levels of individual and ensemble performance. It is closely linked with the Royal Philharmony of Galicia. Master classes for both young and older orchestral instrument players are organised. The University can trace its history back to 1495. There is a second campus in Lugo.
