This is not a teaching body. It holds musical archival material of Andalusia, with the aim of conserving, cataloguing, classifying and disseminating musical materials pertaining to the province of Andalusia (scores, recordings, audio-visual materials and the like). Included in the collections are materials of Joaquin Turina, Manuel Garcia and Antonio Torrandell. There is a collection of historical and folk instruments of the region. The website contains databases on music and dance institutions, composers and compositions in Andalusia. The Centre publishes three periodicals - Southern Oral Music, Paper Spanish Music Festival in Cadiz and The Musical Heritage of Andalusia as well as Sound Records Musical Heritage of Andalusia. It also issues sound recordings.
