Institution Notes:
This institution can trace its history back to 1877 and after a period of closure and some name and location changes, it gained its current name and status in 1987. It is housed in a new purpose-built conservatory in Sarriko. There is an arrangement between the Ibarrekoland Institute and the Conservatory of Bilbao to offer music tuition to gifted children at a music school attached to the Conservatory. Students may enrol from primary level and continue through till the end of secondary schooling, receiving general school education as well as specific training in music subjects. This is known as 'High School Musical'.
