Bachelor of Fine Arts (Carnatic Music). Studies include performance (violin, veena, mirdangam, Karnatic voice, Tamil music [pannisai]), dance, art and design.
Institution Notes:
The university was founded in 1974 and gained its current name and status in 1975. The Ramanathan Academy forms part of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Jaffna and is based at Ramanathan College in Maruthanarmadam. It is housed in a new building opened in 1999. There are departments of art and design, music and dance. Languages of instruction are Tamil and English.
