Institution Notes:

This Royal College of Music, founded in 1771, is an independent college, financed both by private funds and the state. It is housed at the University of Stockholm. The College offers in-service training courses for professional musicians and music teachers, some by distance-mode. The Nordic Performance Master in Folk Music is offered jointly with the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music in Odense, Denmark and the Ole Bull Academy in Voss, Norway. The Nordic Performance Master in Jazz is offered jointly with Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium in Århus, Denmark and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. Three students are admitted from each academy and spend one term at each of the other two. The Joint Music Master degree is a joint project from five higher music institutions in the Netherlands, Sweden, UK and Iceland. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
