Institution Notes:
The Zürich University of the Arts (ZHdK) can trace its history back to 1873. Following several name changes it gained its current name and status in 2007. The University offers programs in design, film, fine arts, music, dance, theatre and art education. A new program structure to be introduced in 2023 will enable students to study transdisciplinary courses in preference to the specialised course in any particular discipline. A pre-college music program is offered to interested persons in the local community. The music department houses an Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology with state-of-the-art facilities enabling further research into the relation between technology and musical practice. The Institute for Music Research focuses on the relationship between the performer and audience.
