Institution Notes:
In 2013 the Lucerne School of Music (Hochschule Luzern - Musik) was incorporated into the recently-established (2007) Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts as its music school. The earlier Swiss Jazz School forms the jazz department of the School of Music. In addition to the professional programs the School offers preparatory courses as well as a non-professional program for children and interested adults. An elective program in Alexander technique is offered. Language of instruction is German. A new purpose-built school building is due to open in 2020. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
