A private post-secondary school founded in 1989, specialising in music industry, audio production and sound engineering education with both full and part-time programs in the business, technology and creative aspects of music. A 15-week recording industry orientation program is available for those wishing to enter the Diploma programs. There are several short programs in audio production and music industry. Facilities include a state-of-the-art studio complex. There is a partnership between Harris Institute and the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) enabling students at this university to complete overseas work placements in Toronto and Harris graduates to earn the Bachelor of Arts (in Commercial Music or Commercial Sound Production) or the Bachelor of Science (in Music Technology) at UWS, with possible advancement to a Master’s degree. The university has a campus in British Columbia and is planning another in Barbados.
