The Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts comprises departments of music, dance, visual arts and creative arts. The department of music was established in 1983 and since 2012 a Center of Excellence for Thai Music and Culture Research has been in operation. Ensembles include a symphony orchestra, a choir, a chamber orchestra and a Thai traditional ensemble. The Faculty of Education was the first to offer a Bachelor of Music Education program at a university in Thailand. It offers undergraduate programs in music education in both Thai and Western music. The Department of Music holds an annual 'Karusart Consert' to promote appreciation and understanding of music for the public as well as to give opportunities for the students to perform. In-service programs of music education are held from time to time. There are two attached demonstration schools, one elementary, the other secondary, used for supervised practical teaching.
