This public University was founded in 1975. The Faculty of Fine Arts and Design comprises departments of music, painting, ceramics, landscape architecture, traditional Turkish handicrafts, theatre, interior architecture, graphic design, and sculpture. The music department is known as the Inonu University State Conservatory which offers programs in musicology, ethnomusicology, performance, Turkish folk music and music education.
