Details:
Diploma (=Bachelor). Four years. Studies in performance (Western, Turkmen traditional instruments, pop, opera, bakhshi), choral and orchestral conducting, composition, musicology, history and theory of Turkmen music, aural skills, sound engineering, music education.
Institution Notes:
An Arts College for Musicians and Artists was opened in Ashkabad in 1935. The present Conservatory was established in 1993 and operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education. There are four departments: Instrumental Performance, Vocal Arts, Conducting, and Theory/Composition and Musicology.
