Institution Notes:
The National Academy can trace its history back too 1897. It is the oldest music educational institution in Ukraine and gained its current name and status in 2000. It publishes an annual journal ‘Musical Art and Culture’. The Academy hosts the triennial International Piano Competition in Memory of Emil Gilels. Member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen. Following the political upheaval that engulfed Ukraine in 2022 there is uncertainty about the continuing existence of the Academy programs as outlined above.
