Institution Notes:
The University was founded in 1883. The Department of Music is active in the fields of publishing and concert presentation. The Library at the University of Wales in Cardiff houses the Welsh Music Information Centre, concerned with the promotion and dissemination of Welsh music. There are two research centres: Centre for Interdisciplinary Approaches to Opera Studies, and Centre of Research in Historically Informed Performance.
