The University can trace its history back to 1964. It was named Napier University in 1992 and in 2009 was re-launched as Edinburgh Napier University. The Ian Tomlin School of Music has state-of-the-art recording studios and fully networked MIDI suites. The Edinburgh Quartet is resident at the School.
