Institution Notes:

The University can trace its history back to 1865. Its music department was established in 1972 and is housed in Dalriada House in attractive grounds on the shore of Belfast Lough. Facilities include a three-manual organ, practice rooms, state-of-the-art electronic and computing studios, and the Heather Clarke Recital Room. The Department has particular strengths in early music, analysis, composition and modern music. There is an Arts and Humanities Research Institute and a Research Centre for Creative Technologies, established in 2011.
