Institution Notes:
Brunel University was established in 1966. The School of Arts has areas of creative writing, English, journalism, games design, film and television, theatre and music. There are opportunities for music students to collaborate with students of drama and dance within the department of performing arts. The department sees its particular strengths as in contemporary composition, jazz performance, ethnomusicology, musicology and interactive arts and sonic design. There is a Brunel Institute for Contemporary Music Practice. The library houses scores, manuscripts and recordings and a comprehensive and up-to-date database of Middle Eastern composers and musicians.
