Institution Notes:
The University can trace its history back to 1896. The Music Department works in connection with the International Media Centre at the Adelphi Building. The Music, Media and Performing Arts Research Centre has a Brass Band Research Archive, a National Rock and Heavy Metal Archive and a popular music research base. Facilities include four well-equipped 24-track recording studios, electro-acoustic studios and practice rooms. All students have the chance to become acquainted with electroacoustic music and recording techniques. Music students co-operate with the College’s students of media, drama and dance. An associate member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
