NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Music Technology. One year. Studies in sound design, sound engineering. NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Radio Production. One year. RSL Level 3 Certificate/Subsidiary Diploma in the Creative Music Industry. Two years.
Institution Notes:
An specialist residential college of further education and training for people aged 16 to 25 who are blind or partially sighted. Apart from the courses listed above, the college runs courses in performance, creative arts and musicianship. It also prepares students for practical diplomas. Studies include contemporary music, music technology. Facilities include a MIDI teaching room, an 8-track recording studio, a 16-track digital recording studio, a 24-track digital studio ‘Sound Scape’, a video editing suite, a radio studio, a performance studio with sound and lighting facilities and a digital edit suite. There are courses for sighted music teachers of the visually handicapped.
