Institution Notes:

The University was founded in 1952. The approach to the teaching of music has been specifically designed by composers and performers to fully utilise current technology. There are three studios fitted with state-of-the-art recording equipment in the John Lill Centre for Music Studies. The department owns a Javanese gamelan.
