Institution Notes:
The University can trace its history back to 1894, and gained its current name and status in 1966. The department has particular strengths in performance studies, composition, nineteenth and twentieth century music, sound recording and audio engineering. There is an Institute of Sound Recording that organises the Tonmeister programs, using the state-of-the-art sound and edit suites, recording studios and equipment.
