Institution Notes:

A Catholic university founded in 1958. The Faculty of Musical Arts and Sciences comprises four schools - composition, musicology and criticism, sacred music, and music pedagogy and education. It includes the following centres: • Instituto de Investigación Musicologica ‘Carlos Vega’. This is not a teaching institution. It issues research journals in musicology and ethnomusicology and organises an archive of popular, folk and indigenous music of Argentina and music of colonial America. • Centro de Estudios Electroacusticos. • Centro de Estudios de Música Antigua. • Centro de Estudios de Música Contemporánea. • Centro de Análisis e Interpretación Musical. The main campus is in Buenos Aires, with others in Rosario, Paraná and Mendoza.
